Hello fellas,
I am excited to be here, I recently bought a 1988 mazda 2200 pickup truck and was told that I can put a rotary engine with the factory tranny. Is this is true I am on my way to purchase a completed rebuild stage 2 rotary engine. Can anyone advice me on this.
Thanks

If you bought the truck and are already going to get the engine then you must know already that the swap can be done.
You are in for some fabrication and wiring..no big deal, just need to figure how to mount what and then where the wires go.
As with all custom modifications you can't really expect full play by play info so you will have to research what you do and at best post with any questions if you get stumped.

Piston to rotary swap
I will be posting pics and some information that it could be helpful to others . I will do my research on this, I seen on you tube so many mini truck like this with rotary engine but no information to be found to do the swap. I'll keep looking, once I get all the information I need it will post.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Check out the Old School and Other Rotary subforum. Several of these swaps have been documented.
From what I remember, the transmission in the 2200 is the same as the NA FC with different gearing. But most likely you will want to upgrade the engine a bit anyway, so I'd suggest looking into the TII R-type transmission and adjusting final gearing with the rear end. Depends on what you want to do with the truck.
