new with ignition problems

Hi, I've just bought a 97 fd with intake/exhaust and a pfc. Engine has got 10000 on it since a rebuild. I'm real happy with it, but couple of things I'm wondering about.

Mostly it will rev and hit soft revlimit at 9000 without problems. But on and off, mostly when the car has been running for awhile and I expect there is a bit of heat under the hood; the car feels like it misses badly round 5000revs. It actually feels like the soft revlimit at 9000revs.

I haven't changed out the plugs yet, but will do asap. The car does have a pfc installed and I'm wondering would it be a something to do with that or just old fashioned ignition missing?

Another instance is with the dash 'heat light' coming on quickly and the car getting that ignition missing feeling happening.

I'm new to rx7's, so not really sure about these symptoms. I will be getting a datalogic for the pfc so I can see what is going on with that.

If anyone has any comments, thanks in advance!

I've changed the plugs, but the car still sounds like there is something wrong with the ignition. It often won't rev smoothly to 8000, breaking up round 5000; almost feeling like the soft revlimit at redline.

I'm getting a new set of leads to see if that fixes my problems, but am now wondering if the coilpacks/ignitors on fd rx7's go bad? The car does a power fc fitted, could/would this effect anything ignition related? What else could i check/change to try get this sorted?

Thanks
