Talking new here and doing school work. help plz

hey everyone. i'm new here on this forum. i've been part of other forums but never an rx7 forum. i jus started getting into them and know little. i was wondering if someone could gimme a few answers as to the differences in the Wankel (rotary) engine and a regular piston engine. differences in production price and also why they never really caught on with other companies. any help would be greatly appreciated. thankz

Rotarys go in circles, they make impressive HP per Liter, but lack tourque.
Pistons go up and down

GM and Mercedes developed Rotary engines, but the oil embargo killed them off due to the rotary's general lack of mpg.

howstuffworks.com. Look up rotaries and you'll see.

Also, look at mazda.com for information as well.

It sounds more like he wants to know the price differences and the production differences, as well as problems and such associated with them... now the functional differences.

Well, Mazda has to hand build each rotary because the cost to automate it would not be worth it due to the low volume.
