need some help

I own an 86 7, with no engine it. my dad has his old 12a from his rx2, so my plan is to put that into the 7. i'm just wondering if anyone has done this before, and if so is there any prolbems you ran into? any adivce would be helpful, thanks

didn't they change the engine mounting point in the '86 and later to the center housing? where's the engine that was in it? rebuild that one. 13b would be better anyway.

mounting a 12A in that car would require many new parts and some custom fabrication. not worth it in my opinion ... when you're probably going to want to convert back to 13B in the future, anyway.

just try to locate a Gen II 13B for it.

yeah, it would be easier to find a 13B instead of a 12A. It will be easier to fit in since the 12A has different engine mounts. Also, if your car still has the engine wire harness and ECU, you will want the 2nd gen 13B since that is what the ECU will be looking for.
