I have a 93 fd and i just put a new driver door handle on it. It was broken when i bought it about a month ago. The problem is that the rod that goes from the latch to the opening mechanism doesn't push down far enough to open the door. The door opens fine from the inside but not from the outside. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to cure this problem because from looking at the old door latch I can see that it was cut and welded at a lower angle; possibly a common problem. I don't really want to do that so any other ideas would be appreciated. Thanks--Kevin

 

nevermind i rigged it. still a bit stiff but i guess a little stiff is better than not stiff at all
