Unhappy Need help... engine starts fine, but dies immediately?

Hi all

I've got a 13B Turbo in my car. The engine's been freshly rebuilt. It started and ran great. Then a few days later I had a blow-off valve welded to the intercooler pipe and moved the boost gauge. I used good quality brass fittings for this purpose. When I put back the intercooler pipe with the BOV and tried to start the engine, the car would start fine, but it would immediately start bucking and shaking really bad, and then just die. If I give it gas, it will still do the same.

I was thinking that it was a vacuum leak problem, but I've tried disconnecting the boost gauge and the BOV and plugging up the hose from the intake manifold, but the same thing would happen...

Does anyone have any suggestions of what I could try or check??

Check your AFM for leaks before the turbo

Hi,

I don't have an AFM because I'm running aftermarket engine management.

I tried it again, but gave it a lot of gas.... the engine ran (albeit very roughly) for about 10-15 seconds, then died. I'll check again for vacuum leaks just to rule out that possibility... Any other ideas?? Thanks in advance
