NA to turbo engine difference?

I have a running 88 NA and a non running 88 turbo. Can all of the turbo stuff be put on the non turbo engine? How much does it usually cost (parts) to "rebuild" one of thse engines? Thanks for the input.

The NA has 6 intake ports and the turbo has 4. The side housings are different. I think the NA has higher compression too. Trannys are different, computer, injectors, etc. All different. Does anyone know of you can just fab something up and put the turbo, exhaust and intake on the NA motor using the NA intake manifold (turbocharge the NA motor)?

A friend of mine was tellin me he read an article in Turbo magazine I believe, where it was done. The name of the article was something like" Six port loves boost". I'll ask him what the exact magazine was if the SOB remembers. But apparently it CAN be done and has been.

I posted a thread in one of the other cats. aboot turboin my '88 GXL, basically what I got was you can use the turbo and all that off the turbo car, BUT the turbo doesnt clear the intake manifold so you have to fabricate some sort of spacer for it.
Do a search for GXL and turbo, you'll probably find it pretty easily.

The NA's are 9.4 CR and the Turbos are 8.5. If you are looking for an engine swap, youd save a lot of trouble buying a 13BT (TurboII Motor) or getting an aftermarket turbo kit would work too, but probably more expensive and it might not be compatiable with aftermarket exhausts (not sure) Good luck man, I'll tell Dave youre looking into a motor for his previous love
