NH Is my TPS my issue?

So my 87 RX7 that i bought not running and got running by inspecting/replacing plugs, wires, injectors and plugs for them, injector resistor, coils, ignition relay, fuel pump, CKP sensor, and also checked the AFM (has yet to idle correctly but pulls like a bat outta hell).

I went out and ran a few errands and left. Went to merge onto the highway so i had to get on it. Got on it in 1st and went to go into 2nd and went to get back on it and nothing. Pushed the clutch back in took it out of first, jiggled it in neutral and put it back in second and nothing again. I dont have a meter at the moment so im trying to get some more info, and the car doesnt start so i cant warm up the car and test it that way.

Took the TPS to work. Tested and found the range to be way off 390 ohms to 4000 ohms. Spec is 1000 at idle (plunger out) and 6000 WOT (plunger in)
