hey i got a 1989 mazda rx7 gxl. i bought it from a guy that had took the tranny out of it to use that tranny to put in another one. well i had to buy all sorts of things and finally i got it all. and then i go to try and push start it cause i hadnt bolted up the starter yet on it. there was a few cut and loose wires by the starter area that didnt ended up hookin up with nothing. so i left those just cut and then i put my ignitino in it. cause it didnt have one. well after me and my friends pushed it with his truck the only thing it would do when i would put in the clutch was just rev up to whatever his rpm was. the ignitiion didnt kick over. i didnt hear the motor really change. and when i hit the gas it did nothin. what i need help in is. why isnt this thing startin up. its going to the last click on the ign. right before startup. what can i do to fix it??? help please . thanks

 

First, make sure you are getting spark. Second, make sure you are getting fuel. Third, pour ATF in through the spark plug holes and rotate the motor. Put the spark plugs back in and start the engine, or in your case push start the car but don't touch the accelerator until you have it started.
