motor "pinging" ?
i beleive my motor is pinging, however im not entirely sure.
it only happens under load, not necessarily under boost, virtually any acceleration.
its a "chirping" noise from the motor, however i cannot tell if its a timing ping, a lean ping, or something else.
some may remember my post about eccentric shaft play, is it possible i installed the thrust bearing wrong and it's causing this?
the motor is FINE revving in neutral, but during acceleration "chirpchirpchirpchirp" and i can feel a loss of power.
i run premium fuel, the factory OMP setup is being used. any clues guys?

my timing is dead on, checked it out with a light today.
it idles PERFECT, however...cruising down the road at 3k it has a slight miss, and during any acceleration i hear that chrip..gets worse and worse as the throttle goes down.

"I have this hesitation whenever I accelerate right around 3500-4000 RPM
The dreaded 3800 RPM hesitation is cause 90% of the time by poor ground connections between the engine, the battery, and the car. Clean or replace all the under hood ground connections. On 86 model year cars , replacing/regrounding the pressure sensor's ground wire has helped (do not re-ground a 87 or later model year). If there is still a problem after that, look at cleaning the fuel injectors and (on a N/A) that your 5th/6th ports are operating correctly." - Icemark
I hope this helps, I got it from the faq in the 2nd gen forum.
so basically check every ground connection. Make sure to clean them and if so cut off old gound clip and put one of those butt connecters that has the ring for a screw.
if that doesn't help then clean fuel injectors I guess. Goodluck!

You should try to have some one rev the motor and you listen with a scope. It could be something the the clutch drive train area.
If you have a tubular manifold or header there will be a pinging sound. The thiner the tube the louder it will be.
