Mobile 1 Syn. 15W50?
I just got 8 free qts. of 15W50 Mobile1 syn. and I was wondering if this is a good viscosity to use in the 13B. I live in south Louisiana where temperatures in the summer are in the 90's and the coldest it ever gets is high 30's - low 40's. Thanks.

I use Castrol Syntec 20W50, and I live in Texas...it works great for me. Thicker oil works better for us higher-heat area people. I really think that it would be great for you to use.

Hi guys, can you also give tips on North California owners for 3rd Gen? What is the best engine oil out there we can use? I currently also using Castrol Syntec 20W50 also. Did anyone use some JCM brand and have better result on oil consumption out there?
Thanks.
Thanks.
I only use Royal Purple Synthetic motor oil (20w50). It was suggested to me by Racing Beat. I don't really feel any gains over the Castrol Synthetic, but according to them Royal Purple incorporates "Synerlec", a propriety ingredient that coats an ultra-slick film on internal engine components to significantly reduce power-robbing friction. Any extra protection is a good thing even at a higher cost.

Mobil1 15w50 for the last year and a half and I love it. Car runs ~10 degrees F cooler and revs smoother. I think it's extending my turbo's longevity as well (92k miles and always on boost).

on my 13bt i have removed the oil injection setup and premix my petrol with Motul 800 2T 2 stroke oil at a ratio of 150:1 Ive just changed from 20w 50 mineral to Royal Purple 10w 40 fully synthetic recomended by Pac Performanc in australia, everytime i check the oil it's see thru ! and the level is full, its only been in there about 2 weeks but ive done 15 or so 1/4 mile runs at 17-20 psi and it seems all good, i did 5 runs back to back non stop, cant fault it yet. it has something they call synerlec technology which supposidly sticks to engine parts real good providing added protection and also has a detergent agent in the oil to keep the insides clean.
