Thumbs up Leaking Exhaust or Fuel Injectors

Ok guys, got a new one, on the bright side I am almost done and I will be leaving you guys alone for awhile ;P. Anyhow, I have the famous Tick Tick Tick now from the passenger side engine bay. I had put a little Tranny fluid in to see where the exhaust would smoke and it seems to have a leak where the exhaust meets the engine (first cat/downpipe area?) which is on the same sideas the ticking. Also when this tick tick tick sound happens the rpms flux a little and the car shakes. It will never die but sometimes it almost does. This sound isnt just when it idles either, it happens between accelerations as well. The car bogs a little and makes the sound while the rpms flux. But after about 20 minutes or so of the car running like this it seems to get better..? My fuel injectors are also 16 years old since I have a 88AE and I hear that the injectors sometimes make these noses but it is too loud to be them. So... could an exhaust leak cause rpm fluxes and this sound that I am talking about? Thanks for the heads up guys!
