Lawn mower on the I5

Ok so I was on my way to HIN and as soon as I punch it on the on ramp I loose 70% of the power in my engine and I hear this loud Lawn mower sound comming from the engine. Now my car wont even start. The only thing I can think is that only one rotor is turning but until I find a shop that I really want to take it to I'm stumped. I open the hood and I notice that there is oil leaking right overe the spark plugs. Other than that I dont see any other problems. Any Idea as to what it is and Where I should take it?

Both rotors are turning, but you blew a spark plug or seal on one of them. Pull a plug from one rotor, crank it over and listen for 3 even whooshes, do the same for the other rotor. If you aren't getting 3 even whooshes from each rotor, start looking for a rebuild.

same exact thing happened to me except not while driving, it happened after i started it. it barely started and sounded like a mower. i pulled the caps off the rotor closest to the cab and cranked it. the engine didnt start. i then plugged them in and pulled the plugs on the far rotor. the engine didnt start. i plugged everything back in and the engine didnt start. i made it worse. im gonna try replacing the ignition stuff first. Have u figured out what was wrong?

Same thing happened to me a few years ago. No power, about 5 miles to the gallon. I looked over everything before I took it to a shop. When I finally took it in-apex seals were shot.

had same lawn mower problem. Changed spark plugs (covered with oil and fouled to hell), distributor cap, distributor rotor, and plug wires. Added fuel stabilizer and injector treatment. Runs perfect now

My plugs aren't even a year old yet. Is it possible that they could already be that bad if I only put 7k on the engine? I still haven't decided on where I want to take it. That's the downfall of moving. You don't know who to trust. If I take it to the same shop I have been They're going to tell me to do a rebuild. They seem so eager. I know it will happen eventually but why jump the gun if it's a problem you could fix with plugs and maybe a little fuel modification?
