just bought 88 NA FC and wont start
I just got an S4 FC NA and i knew it wasnt starting when i bought it so ive been trying to figure out why. while i have been researching the rx7 for a long time now, im still have no direct experience with the 13b until now.
I've done the poor mans compression test and i can clearly hear all the "psh" noises in a good steady rate. I am getting spark (brand new NGK plugs) and am getting fuel (I can definitely smell it). New battery and alternator as well. I know the water pump is probably dead and its low on coolant, but that shouldnt prevent it from starting right? There is a loud annoying buzz from the dash after like 5 seconds (low coolant warning??), but would the computer prevent it from firing up because of that? Oh I've also tried spraying some starting fluid into the throttle body, still wont catch. I've also thought maybe it was flooded so I tried all a few different de-flooding proccedures to no avail.
So at this point the only conclusions I can think of is:
A- compression is actually low and I couldnt tell that it was.
B- possible leaky injectors
Is there a way to test out the injectors without having to buy em?
thanks

First, fill the car with coolant to stop the annoying buzzer.
Second, have you attempted to push/pull start the car?
A rotary can start with low compression and with a blown rotor, albeit very slowly. If you are feeling brave, spray some ether into the intake via any of the vacuum nipples on the intake, or even into the tubes coming off of the intake. If it starts but sputters out then you are not getting enough fuel. Be sure to change the old oil as well.

UPDATE: Just for the hell of it I deflooded it about 8 more times and it started and stumbled a bit but made it to idle around 1100rpm steady...BUT! its POURING white smoke out the exhaust...coolant leak? subzero start valve or internal coolant seals? I hope its just the stupid valve.
