ignition (starting) fd3s, any 1 with a rotary help!!!!!
Ok ok...... i have a few questions.. more i'm wandering if any1 has had any troubles like mine or might know whats wrong..... i posted a few days ago (well like last week) about a starting problem...where my fd will start to crank (u hear the starter) but it doesnt catch and start the motor... i have tryed to change the plugs and wires, fuel filter, and checked the pump and coil packs... its very strange because my pump doesnt start to move fuel untill i let off of the starter (when u turn the key from the on posotion to the start then let back off) and also my plugs dont fire untill the same instant... any one know what might be going on??? i think the propblem might be some thing eletrical.... alot of my local birmingham fellow owners think that its not something too major (like apex seal or an o ring). so if you have ever went through anything like this or know any1 who has please let me know what they did to fix it or any other things that might be fu**ed.
Thanks

So the motor cranks and you can hear it spinning but it won't start? How do you know it is getting fuel and spark when you let off the key?
When did this start happening? Was it always like this?

Well, if it was always having this problem I would say to check the power to the ECU when cranking. Actually I would check that anyway.
Also, does this car have an alarm? Is it still hooked up? Maybe something is messed in there.
It sounds like it just isn't getting power while cranking.

Well, if it has never started, then I bet something is wrong with the wiring from the alarm. I bet they didn't reconnect the coils or something to cranking. Or messed up a wire somewhere. Find the alarm wiring and then crank the engine with someone testing the wires on both sides to see if there is power. Then match that wire to the other side and see if it is getting power. If it is not, you have found the problem.
