Ignition coil question

I can't remember if FD guys usually swap FC coils into their cars or if FC guys swap FD coils into their TII's. Could someone please tell me which one it is? Thanks in advance. Someone had asked me today and I can't remember for the life of me which one it was. I would hate to tell him the wrong one.

Nobody is willing to tell me which one is correct? I know someone in here has done the ignition coil switch that I'm talking about. Hopefully someone will help me out here.

I would assume its FD coils into a TII, but that's just a guess.

FC into FB, yes. Never heard of FC into FD. You could also use aftermarket coils.

FC into FB? I have never heard of that one. I know better than to question you though Ashraf. Thanx for the advice bro. Where could I source good aftermarket coils from?

FC->FB = for direct fire ignition. I'm not sure how many people have actually done it since I don't fly in the FB circle anymore since I sold mine but the idea is to eliminate the distributor as the conductor of the high voltage and use it as a crank-angle sensor of sorts, IIRC.

MSD seems like a popular choice for ignition components (Summit Racing). If you dig around the various archives you should be able to find information about selection criteria IIRC they have different electrical characteristics that you should match to the car and whatever aftermarket ignition components are installed.
