Angry Ignition coil problem!need to know if I can buy an aftermarket coil.

I think I'm having ignition coil problems. My car is running extremely rich. I have no power what so ever and it's hard to start. I think the spark is very week. I remeber a few months ago when I put the engine together that the spark was huge. Now it's barely a spark. I'm not exactly sure how big it's suposed to be.
I'm wondering if anybody has replaced the coils with aftermarket coils. If you have, did you also change the igniter? What kind of coils should I get for a single turbo with medium modification? How do you check the igniter?

how long have you been having this problem compared to how long you've had your mods? has the car been tuned yet? usually coils either work or they don't - i'm not saying that to say that it's NOT the coil - i just want to eliminate as many other scenarios as we can.

Trying everything!

After checking the compression and feeling 90% sure that I doesn't seem to be a blown motor. I checked the resistance on the three coils. I have new sparkplugs, and wires Magnecor 10MM. with the coil hooked up and the wires I put a screwdriver in the wire to check the spark. The distance was about 1/4 inch. This a visual inspection but to me it seemed to be rather small, I believe it to be very faint and orange in color, little bit of blue. When I rebuilt the engine with modifications four month ago and I was diagnosing startup problems I checked the spark and it looked like a little lighting bolt. It didn't seem so in this case. I though it was kind of small. I didn't check the igniter because I didn't know how. Does anybody know how? The symtoms of the car are sluggish response, very hard to start, plugs are black like they saturated in gas. I just feels like there is no full combustion being performed. I ordered to msd coils SS 8207 for the trailing and one MSD 6A amplifier for the leading coil. I'm going to see if this alliviates this problem.
I'll take any other suggestions.

Garfinkle uses a Crain Harley Davidson coil for the leading , on his 94 -7 . It is mounted on the driver side fender wall below the stock trailing coils that are below the master cylinder .
