I own a 1993 Rx-7 heres the deal

ill tell the situation and then explain the problemo:

>Before, car no workey because air compressor went out.

>after, shop installed Downpipe and new "used" compressor with r134 conversion.

>what happened, got rid of the retarded warm up start , when you first start the car.

> what happened continued, heres the problem in neutral it has an eratic idle and it jumps from 1k to 1.5k just sitting there ugg.... IN gear it does nothing but smooth sailing. im not sure what the problem is , it sounds retarded at stoplights because up down, up down, up down with the revs and i have exhaust.... input is needed.

It's called hunting idle or surging idle and nearly every RX7 owner has experienced this at one time or another....I'll bet if you search for these topics, you might find a lot of help.

 

You could reset the ecu, and have the car relearn it's idle.
If it still doesn't settle down, help the idle by adjusting either of the two mechanical idle adjustment screws. Start by reducing air flow first.
