idle issues

idle issues
my 87 turbo II has idle issues
when I start it if I let off the cas it will shut off, which makes it hard to let the engine warm up first.
after 5-10 minutes this problem goes away, but it idles kind of high, around 2.5 which means when I let it sit for a minute before shutting it off it cant cool down as much as Id like
any sugestions as to what my problem is and/or how to fix it?
