My rx7 is silver base model. Not sure if its PEP or what but i have leather seats

And how rare exactly is an rx7 i recently acquired one for free needs lots of work like 1500$ + in work mostly front end damage not sure if i need a frame pull...

Ive stud-yd up on this car pretty damn well for about 2 months now

apparently according to US Specifications for 1993 FD3S there were 53 PEPs made in 93 which is the year of my car and i believe i do have a PEP Rx7 if so how rare is it PEP and how rare is it if its not?

Is it worth fixing? im only 16 and most people say its a hunk of S*** and im going to kill myself in it (very possible). the interior is in MINT! condition only 26657 miles on it has not ran in 16 years but i got it started last weekend

When i got it started i hear a clicking noise that would get louder as i revved like a clickclickclick and it would get faster as it revved

If someone could answer all of these questions it would be highly appreciated thanks guys!

the clicking is probably something hitting one of your pullies----- the higher your rpm, the more the pullies spin. I'd take it one step at a time with this car given it sat for so long. Assuming you drained the gas tank?

My brother owns a '93 Silver on Black base model, and I know it's one of 266 because I break his ***** about it frequently

PEP and base model are two different trim levels.

Yes drained the tank fuel pump was shot got a cheap one for now then i will get a better one but yea it runs and starts

in 1993 they had 3 models.

R1, Touring, and the Base model.

the Base model, is no sunroof, no rear wiper, but does have cruise control, and was available with leather as an option.

the PEP, Popular Equipment Package, was 1994 and up, it is basically a base model with leather and a steel sunroof, the Touring getting the glass roof.

the FD is a bit weird, in that the model year, and the actual calendar year it was made are different. the model year is a way for the Government to apply safety and emissions standards, so it is an abstract construct.

to wit; the 1993 model year FD's were all produced between 12/1991 and about 6/1992, so there are no 1993 model year Rx7's made in 1993.

if you want another example, Delorian registered a bunch of vin numbers for cars they didn't end up building, so since these vins are already on file with the government, they can build the car, so there will be some 1982 delorians made in 2016.

or basically there were no PEP's in 1993, they would be 1994's.
