how much farther back FD trans move the shifter?

Just wondering how much farther back does the FD trans put the shifter compared to the FC shifter?

I dont have FD and FC tranny handy to compare them directly

Can you convert a FD bell housing to use a FC push type clutch?

I'm doing a 5 speed swap on my JC Cosmo and I'm using the FC trans. I had to cut the shifter location just a little to fit the FC one.

I used a FD peddle, clutch master and FC slave and trans.

i'm not sure if the shifter position differs between the two or not but if they do it's not by much. u might also want to source the manual shifter surround if it's different from the auto.

o ok. i just had a thought tho, didn't those come with the 20b? that's where the extra rearward fitment would come from.

The 20B and 13B Cosmo use the same motor mounts and trans mounts in the same spot. Yes the 20B engines are longer but they are longer on the front side. not the back side.
