How does the gas nozzle at gas stations know to stop pumping????
I'm wondering because I'm installing a fuel cell and need to know how the nozzle stops. Where I live you can't pump your own gas so I just don't want gas all in my trunk

on my car it stops at about 3/4 of tank.
It knows to stop when gas backs up into the nozzle. Then it stops and the backup drains down. That why you can always pump an extra dollar or so in, althoug it just floods the charcoal filter.
