How to clean the gunk off the engine

hey im plning a rebuild soon and im curious the easyist way toi clean tghe gunk off them, mabee the best cleaner or somtnig please let me know

take the block to the car wash and use a pressure sprayer then when you have it apart use parts cleaner or brake parts cleaner to clean the individual pieces.

That orange clean(oxy clean concentrate) stuff works really good. Use 2 cap fulls in a squirt bottle. It's cheap and it smells good.
