How to check compression with motor out of car?

How do you do it? I have a remaned stock port motor with 20k on it, but the car was wrecked. How do I just get it to spin so I can check the compression so I can sell the motor? And what RPM's to spin it at? If you can spin it at a certain RPM?

Starter, tranny, battery and jumper cables. You will need a jumper wire from the + on the starter to the solenoid. 250 rpm is a general base.
