hood lift venting
Years ago while I was a v8 fan I remember Hot Rod mag. doing a article on the Silver State high speed races in NV. In that article there was a topic about remounting the hood hinges up a few inches to increase air flow in the engine bay.
My question has anyone done this and how?
I can tell you the races are run twice a year spring and fall in Nevada on 98 miles of closed 2 and 4 lane highway. Cars are entered base on safty and speed capabilities.

I have my hood raised about a half inch. Sure, it looks funny and people ask me is I've been in an accident, but it works. It is raised just enough to get some airflow out the back and part of the sides. This is on an '89 TII.
