HKS intake

I'm just about done installing my HKS intake but I have one problem - I don't know where one of the hoses is supposed to attach. It's the hose that connected to the right side of the stock air box...according to the HKS instructions it is supposed to connect to the supplied air chamber, which is then connected to the supplied 22x500 mm rubber hose which is then connected to another hose closer to the motor. The problem is that the hose that was connected to the stock air box leads to nowhere - it's just an open-ended hose with no filter or anything. Should I just block it off and tie it down or is it supposed to connect to something else. I am very confused. Please help me!! It's a 1994 model.

One more thing...

As you may have already guessed, I am a newbie...I recently purchased my car from this really cool guy in California...he had installed a "racing pulley system" so I was wondering if he had already removed his air pump and this is where the hose I'm talking about was supposed to go...is this a possibility? I'm not too familiar with the intricacies of the RX-7 yet so I was hoping someone could help me (how do I know if the air pump was removed?) Sorry to ask these kinds of questions, but I'm just beginning my RX-7 education.

Most likely your air pump is still there. You can download a copy of the workshop manual from here:

look up the air pump and you will see what it is. There is a "mystery hose" on the FD's intake that goes to nowhere. You dont need it. That is probaly the hose that you are talking about

I had a HKS intake on my car when i bought it. I guess this picture attached is the air chamber you talked about ? One end of the pipe goes towards the back of the throttle bodies but seems to be blocked off. I havent found the other end yet !
