Question High idle problem on Turbo II

Hello from Cold Wet England. I'm hoping someone can point me in the direction of the High idle screw on a 1990 Turbo II (I Believe similar to the US GT Models). On cold start the idle speed reaches a heady 2500 RPM. Then it drops back to an annoying 2000 RPM. Ater its hot it finally returns to normal, But this is usually by the time I'm on the works car park by then.

I presume its the high idle setting . But where do they hide the adjust screw ? I have also a 1986 savanna GTX. No problem there, completely different fuel control with visible adjustments .

Can anyone help ?

Many Thanks

Martin

Ps The High Idle Problem did alert me when I had the car stolen off my drive, I think it suprised the thieves too.

If you start you car in 1st gear, clutch depressed, does it idle around 1500? If so then there is a connector underneath the radiator which controls the 3k startup routine. The reason it idles so high when first started is to warm up the catalytic converters to operating temps.

I can get you a pic if you need it.

Oxygen sensor, actually. The cat takes a long time to be hot enough for max efficiency.
