Help please :)

hey guys...lately my car has been hesitating a lot over 4K rpms...under that is fine though.

sooo, i'm thinking either my secondary injectors are partly clogged or they are not opening correctly. someone was telling me today that there is a test i can do to see about a "bad ground" that would cause the secondaries to not open right. how can i test or fix this???

i was gonna have the injectors cleaned this week but JR rotary is too busy

also i was thinking maybe the 6 ports are not opening correctly. is the mod for wiring them open only for the 86-88's??? maybe its just me but the exhaust note sounds different ever since i've had this hesitation problem, would the ports not opening correctly cause this???

thanks for any help guys

Have you done any (I mean ANY) modifications before you got the hesitation? It sometimes helps to trace backwards for problems.

After 4k, does it happen to hesitate while wide open throttle (WOT) and/or half throttle?

I noticed that with my ground problem, hesitation would only occure at WOT...and it would only be affected between 3500 and 4500 rpm. Before and after that range, my car would run fine. To fix my grounding problem, I added an extra ground to my ECU, cleaned all the grounding points in the engine bay for the ECU (2 spots), added a larger grounding strap from the engine to the firewall and another grounding strap from the negative battery to the chassis.

As for you injectors...I'm not quiet sure how to trouble shoot them. I hope someone else here on the board can help you.

Good luck!

thanks for the reply man...well i have done modifications, but the intake, high flow cat, and N1 cat-back were put on 1.5 years ago, and up until about 1 month ago everything was fine. i mean it "could" be a clogged cat...but i wouldn't think so since the Bonez superflow system is only that old.

hmm, i guess its hard to say when it hesitates at WOT or half throttle. lets say i pull outta an intersection and floor it...its fine up till like 4K...then is studders and hesitates up till 6K...but then won't go any higher...the motor has more of a hollow tone as compared to the past at this rev range (if that makes any sense ) hehe. but yeah, it just stops at 6K and its like someone is holding the tach needle.

or if i'm going like 40 in 3rd gear...i'll floor it and it mostly just bogs...the motor lets out a "bwaaaaaaawww" but the car doesn't accelerate like it used to...

This one may be played out to your ear but i'll say it anyways...change your fuel filter recently? If not, try that. Mine used to run like **** over 4-5.5K...seemed like pure poop...4 dollar fixes can't be beaten, well the .95 leading ignitor wasn't a bad deal either...

Are you recieving any error codes from the ECU? when you first get in the car and turn the ignition on does the car beep at you like 5+ times?

It is probably a fuel filter, maybe an injector. And posibly the AFM... The AFM is unlikley but it can happen...

It is not the ground.. if it was it would not go up to 6k rpms...
