heater core, and clutch. give up???

I got a dirt cheap 84 12A. the clutch stays down sometimes, and the tranny rattles at constant speed unless i put a little pressure on the clutch. Also, the heater core is in the trunk. If some one had the time to tell me about the clutch, or maybe get the heater core in, I might not roll this stupid car off a cliff. Please help!

the clutch probably stays down due to a faulty slave cylander. search in the 1st gen section on how to replace. the info is abundant. i know i have posted it like 3 times. it is like less than an hour job. are you sure the heater core is out? it may just be a spare.
