Heat Control Question
Heat Control Question
OK heres the deal. My car had tan carpet that i thought was really ugly. I ripped it out along with the insulation and painted the floor black while putting in some aluminum heel plates, it looks really tight but there is one problem-HEAT! When i drive in the day it gets really hot inside by my legs. I was wondering if there is any type of coating or other materials that you can put on the underside, or on the floors that would keep some of the heat out of the cockpit.
Thanks

Do you have a downpipe and midpipe? The main cat will get pretty warm, probably the best thing you can do regardless is wrap everything with header wrap or get it heat coated, thats why we have an exhaust overheat system anyways, those pipes just get hot...you could also get a heat coating applied like Jet hot etc
Jet hot is a properitary process that would be applied to the pipe, you cant buy it per se in a spray can, you have to send parts off to them for coating...if your R doesnt see wet weather just header wrap the MP and you should feel a good decrease in temps on your floorboard
