Had anyone thought about designing a diesel rotary engine?

i just recently ran diesel fuel on my FC turbo. It runs kinda nice.. but does not like to idle at all. Not very ideal.. but gives a lot better combustion since you don't really need a spark. but detonation is bad bad bad.

It was turbocharged to get the high compression. It was successfull but a system was required to spin the turbo prior to starting the engine to get compression high enough. The Government was approached to fund this development of this system but as usual didn't come to the party. The engine still exists somewhere.
