A good 3rd generation?

Is there such a thing as a 3rd generation that can last 100,000 miles without replacing the turbos/engine??

Or are ALL rotary 3rd generations crappy and need rebuilds left and right??...... I mean I have seen some with 80,000 miles on it ...all original....is that rare???

No man, it just depends. Of course they can last more than 100k, just check out this thread https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...threadid=27269
I wouldnt call any of them crappy, of course there were some issues with the stock Fds. I mean, what do you want to know? Are you looking at buying one and want to know about reliability or what. Because other wise the only answer I can give you is, yes they can last more than 100k, and no theyre not crappy. Its not that rare for them to last 80k+ miles, but also not that rare for them to need a rebuild before then.

Well.....I found two RX7's ....both 93......one with 40,000 and the other with 60,000 miles on them.....both 100% original....except for downpipes....they both knew to remove the first cat.....so i'm wondering would it be safe for me to spend $$ on one of these cars....and expect it to last till 100,000 miles without ANY rebuild on turbos or engine.......both also have perfect boost pattern...

Check the compression too. There are a lot of "reliability mods" you can do to your third gen, but ill let you check these sites out, because these sites have a lot more info than I could type here.
