Getting into racing

I have a 90GXL with a TII motor the only modifications ive had done are a blow off valve and intake system and a racing beat exhaust these werent done by me but done by my father he also did several other improvements but he refuses to inform me on anything else

Ive done some small races mostly friends and me at a parking lot that we got permission to use and im getting interested in modifying my entire car i have no suspension upgrades and am running about 250whp dyno tested

I am not good with mechanics and would like to get better so im looking for any suggestions or help im interested in suspension and engine improvements keeping it on a manageable budget as im in only in college and dont have great funding

I would like to set the car up for a good daily driver but good race car for events in drift and circuit but id like to keep it stock looking
