General Rotary FAQ?
I have a ton of questions, mainly about reliability on high-mileage engines. Instead of bugging you all with them, can someone direct me to a good FAQ?
I'm thinking about a 3rd Gen RX-7 as a new vehicle, but I want to make sure I get something that I can drive hard, and not have to worry about to much. with proper maintenance of course.
As an example, I've got 84,000 miles, and 150+ time slips for my current car ('99 Grand Prix)
Thanks
Murdock

Proper maintenance on a 3rd generation RX7 is extensive maintenance. Figure on spending some serious $$ to get the car to run right and dependable. At a minimum, you would be looking at new plugs every 10,000 miles( $7-8 a piece), new plug wires every 20K, Radiator replacement ($450), AST deletion or replacement (varies), fluids change using Redline for tranny and rear end, vacuum hose replacement $400-600, precat replacement with a downpipe $200, etc etc etc.
The list can go on and on. Many of these things may not crop up, but when they do, your engine is toast. These are considered dependability modifications (some of them).

Study this well before considering the ultimate sacrifice of time and money. Your rewards are great though!
