Fuel pump rates for differen gen rx's
I have been looking a bit here and there about the different pump rates for the different generation rx7's. I am thinking about trying to attain about 350 bhp, but i am unsure what fuel pump i should use. I am thinking about getting the rtek7 ecu ver. 1.7, and adding 720 or 780cc injectors. In either case, i was thinking about installing a FD puel pump, but i am unsure as to the fuel pump rate that would give me. Since i cannot find the differences in their rates, i do not know if this would be a reasonable solution for the time being, (since i i would LIKE the 350bhp goal to be reasonably comfortable such as having a limited boost pressure and not maxing out the turbo all the time for that rate. I will also invest in a lightened flywheel. so, i should expect a good amount of hp just enough for taking corners auto-xing, etc...), or if i should look into getting something else. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Also, my gen rx7 is an '88 S4 Rx7 Turbo.
Thank you,
Ryan Shannon.

Mazda does not print the specs for the FD fuel pump, and therein lies the lack of response.
No one really knows.
Mazda has printed the specs on the FC3S turbo fuel pump, and as a rule I normally quote the FD fuel pump at around 10% to 15% over that.
The FC3S turbo fuel pump high spec is about 190lph.
There's a graph floating around that shows the FD3S output around 55gph at 35psi.
So my 10% to 15% rule is just about there.

I think the stock FD fuel pump to support 350bhp is about on it's limits.
I would rather run a Walbro 255lph high-pressure fuel pump as an upgrade.

i see...thank you for helping me once again with the tech question (remember the email several months back about the field sfc hyper R???). i see the lack of response reason. i suppose i will just run a walbro with a fpr since i may not need that much of an increase for my hp goal.
Thank-you,
Ryan Shannon.
ps....is that your woman, she is super hot (you know, just in case you didnt know!)

If you were the guy who was asking about the wiring diagram, I don't have a copy.
I don't have consistent access with my car, so it's a little tough to just go peek at the wiring on it at any one time.
Nah, I put those pics up as entertainment.

i dont think i am the same guy about the wiring diagram...
oh wait, i could possibly be that same guy. i remember reading about a thread for it. maybe thats why you are thinking of me as the same guy. In either case, i dont need the wiring diagram. i have a couple different copies, one being the haynes manual (which we all know is poop), and i have several different parts of the fsm. so, i should be okay. Plus, my father is a physics engineer, so if i need help, i could ask him about the diagrams! thanks for the info though.

ps...that is a damn shame! = )
