Fuel Problems

So recently I finally got around to nearly finishing off my 2 year build and got around to relocating the battery, after the battery was relocated had a major issue of voltage drop to the fuel pump so ended up doing a quick re-wire to finally to see the car start so just done a quick 12v line intiated by a switch in the cabin for now and putting a 20a fuse in the line. Now with fuel pump having 12v right from battery running through it would I be looking at any problems with over fueling? I have a deatschwerks DW1000 fuel regulator and 850cc primary and 1600cc secondary fuel injectors, the car wants to start and when first turned over had a real rough idle and then died, from there just kept doing the same for the next 2x tries starting it. Pumped heaps of smoke out, I'm just assuming that was all the 2stroke that would've settled to the bottom of tank for it sitting so long so put new fresh fuel in and still same outcome. So am I doing any harm having the fuel pump running 12v constantly? As i read somewhere it runs 9v on idle and 12v under load.

Cheers in advance for any input in the matter.

What mods were done over the 2 years? Has it been tuned for this fuel system? Is your car an FD? 12v should be fine. I have just over 13v at my pump and has been like that for 6 years no worries.... I've never heard 9v at idle though...

Hey thanks for reply, yes it's a fd and the mods were a single turbo upgrade, borg 300sx .88 along with new fuel pump walbro 400 and braided lines and 850cc primary fuel injectors and 1600cc secondary, the car did run prior to battery relocation, but as we went to drive it and oil leak happened between sump so hadn't been turned over in a while so I drained fuel and put new fuel with 2stroke mix in accordingly. Ever since then fuel pump wouldn't go unless a 12v line was running to it, was going to put two spade connectors in the relay just to keep it continuous when ignition is on, but ended up doing a line from battery to pump with switch in cabin. Have bought a different gauge for fuel regulator and am going to see what it was set at could just be a case of overfueling I hope. Was told 45psi should be the norm for fd

If i can remember correctly the fd is 36 psi base pressure i.e remove vaccum/boost line from fuel pressure reg and set the reg to 36psi an with the vaccum/boost line connected it should drop to around 32 psi.

Just got the fuel pressure working, was an oring miss placed on the fuel pumps cradle, am having no problems with pressure now, hopefully start the car tomorrow after work I messaged the company whom sold me the turbo gears and they suggested I run 45psi does that sound like to much fuel? Cause don't want to foul new plugs straight away.

Cheers.
