my friend has an 88 T2 and its having trouble. it wont make boost. the factory boost gauge is all he has in the car and it will only move up a little bit past the 0 boost line. it barely pulls out of vacuum. its not hesitating or missing or anything, so what could it be? i havent run into a problem like this with my T2 so i have no idea.

are you sure? he told me he checked the shaft and it had acceptable play in it. i did notice a lil bit of white/blue smoke at idle, so that does make sense. ill check the car a little closer next time i see him.
