www.grannysspeedshop.com sells the for $725 that will bolt in.

If you go to their web site go about half way down the page and click on "Ford V8" Then go about 2/3rd's down that page and you will see
"REAR AXLE UPGRADE Narrowed 8-3/4 Mopar or 9" Ford
Housing with Axles and attached brackets. Bolt-in
Specify width.......................................725.00 "

I will say that there are several members on this site that have had very bad luck dealing with this company. You may want to search the site and read up on them before dealing with them. Others have had good experience with them though.

MIke

thank you for the response. Also I was wondering what rear gear ratio I should be running if I want the car to be streetable and easy on the freeway but have lots of torque.. also should I use a 28 spline or 31 spline.

I think the 31 spline is a little stronger and a little more common but honestly I don't think it makes much difference.

I have 28 spline in my 64 F100 and it is very easy to find parts for it.

I would go with 31 if starting from scratch but if you run accross a 28 spline for a good deal don't feel bad about grabbing it.

What kind of motor are you planning on running where you would need that kind of rear end?

Later,
Mike

I'm planning on either putting a fd twin turbo bridge ported or a bridge ported 20b or possibly putting in the new motor from the rx-8 and doing some mods to it and trying to turbo charge or supercharge it.... i'll be doing all the work my self. Any references to who has done this before in a 85 gsl-se? and I know it sounds crazy but i've been known to do some crazy sht. Also does any one know how large a rim you can fit on a first gen? I was planning on like 18's on a 255-35-18 or something similar. I will be putting on a mariah mode 1 wide body kit with the whale fin spoiler ad an f50 style hood to expose the innercooler
