first gen fix

first gen fix

my 1980 rx7 hasnt' ran in 8 years but has been in a garage... it looks good but doesnt' run real well, what should i check and replace to get good preformance?

I would do the normal things to get a car running again after its been sitting that long. Replace the gas in the tank, change spark plugs and wires, replace the air filter, the fuel filter. I would even have a compression test done to make sure everything is okie dokey.

on top of that you may want to try an ATF treatment on the engine or power foam treatment. do a search in the first gen section on all of the how to's. you may find some interesting stuff. i would type it up but its lenghty and has been written up a hundred times.
