Fd3s Gilmer belt

Hi guys, I'm new to these forums,

I've had a look, can't find too much. presume there has already been people go over this already. But.

Any way, I've got a fd3s rx7 s7
Making 418hp atw on low boost,
Happy days.

Now there's a Gilmer belt kit that endeavour engineering make here in NZ, rather expensive at almost $700, and this has the same stock set up. almost no contact on the water pump, being back side of the belt. Over tensioning the belt is not ideal either as it over strains the pump.

The question I have is will a s5 fc3s water pump and housing fit the fd block? I've heard the fd pump is better flow but, that doesn't worry me. There's plenty of fc 7s 500+ Hp that don't get hot. This way I could run the belt on the outside of all pulleys, all 3 pulleys have toothed faces making it sound even better! And the fc belt kits are $150, housing and pump is $200.
Thirdly power steering won't be a issue as I'm going the electric mr2 way.

Sorry how it's such a novel, just wanted get all my points out there as everyone seems to hound the little guys,

I say no question is a silly question,

Cheers

Hey there!

Have you managed to resolve your issue?

Let me know how you get on cause im interested in it myself if there is a better way to do it.

Buy looking at that sounds like youve heard of someone having bad experiences with the endeavor kit?

As far as im aware the reason that there set up like that is because series 6-8 are the only ones to have the water pump spin backwards? Correct me if I am wrong.

I am all for finding a better way to do things
