fc3s issue

Hi i have a turbo s5 1990 fc3s i was driving it back fired and lost rev counter engine still running turned it off went to restart will start and idle rough and back fire when trying to rev has good fuel pressure spark on all 4, primary inj pulse, alternator charging at 13.9 The rev counter will work intermittently ive tryed a pair of coils and ecu from another vehicle still does the same thing any help would be greatly appreciated

You need to do a compression test.
If it sounds like a poorly running lawn mower than you can probably surmise that your engine let go.

fixed it found a bunch of wires under dash and behind instrement panel that had been twist and taped soldered and heatshrinked them all and sweet now cheers

Gotta love those "ya,I bought the car modified professionally..previous owner did all the work" cars...lol!

Good job in sourcing the problem and getting it back in running order though!

I try to buy Stock based cars and do them myself.When I sell I disclose EVERYTHING and even show the guy what I did.
I talk a lot so sometimes it is a "couple hour" transaction..haha!
I have had NO problems with anyone that I sold a car to.They get a GOOD deal..(and I am happy the car goes to a decent home!).
My mechanical ability is above average so If I Can't do it, I get it done,..Professionally..(chuckle!)
