FC idle and ignition problem

Hi guys,
I am not much of a mechanic ... so, perhaps to some this might be a stupid basic question..

Anyway, would really appreciate if someone could help me out.

Lately, i guess when the weather warmed up, I am having idling problem with my FC...
it was more difficult to start, I had to crant it a few seconds before it starts.. and also, within the first few minutes of driving, the car will stall when I depress the cluch or put it back to neutral at the traffic lights... the rpm will drop all the way it 0 and stop the car.

I am not sure if it is related to the ignition problem which existed prior to my purchase... my car has a little button which reduces the fuel flow or something which helps it to start. The previous owner told me to press that button if it is start to start.. reason he told me was that the car is running too rich..
Could it be some other problem?? the starter? Alternator??
because its kind of annoying everytime I have to crant it up for at least 5 sec to start the car..
also, the car starts better in the cold... sometimes starts right away when it was parked overnight...
but within let say 1 hr of driving, its more difficult to start it when it is warm or hot.

Would greatly appreciate if someone could give me some tips or perhaps lead me to areas I can discuss with my mechanic.. because so far, his explanation is that the car is too old and i should get rid of it.
Obviously, he is NOT a RX 7 fan.
