Exhaust porting?

I'm in the middle of rebuilding my '94 13b and i will be giving it a street port (from racing beat) and 3mm apex seals. I was wondering about racing beat's streetable exhaust porting also. they say that they usually only perform the exhaust porting on new rotor housings but you can buy the template and they say nothing about that and they leave it up to the customer to decide if they want to do the exhaust porting on their used rotor housings or not. I would appreciate some advice from people who have done this or if its better not to mess with the rotor housings for sum reason. Why do they only perform this porting on new housings? wut problems could i have doing it myself? (im going to do all the porting myself) thnx

Do a search but here's a good read http://www.nopistons.com/forums/inde...xhaust+porting also I'd get the Racing Beat race exhaust port template. Even their race template is mild well a bit mild for me but it will be good for street use.

port it yourself if you feel up to the task. don't worry about getting NEW housings if your are in good shape. i would recommend practicing on trash housings before you do your own, but i think it's safe to say that most people port what they have as long as it's in good shape.

yeah i really would like to do it myself but i dont have any trash housings to practice on.where do i get them? Also what are some things to look for to tell if my housings are in good shape. just an FYI this engine has 99k miles on it and was pulled in running condition to do a v8 swap. and it was checked out and given a clean bill of health. thanks
