engine misfires or freezes

So Ive had my fc for a while now. It feels like the rotors stop spinning while accelerating. I've checked my coil packs and replaced the non working one. I just ordered spark plugs, wires, and I feel that I must ask someone before I go further. I've looked on possible causes and wondering if anyone can narrow down on what to look for. I just can't stand this random misfire or the rotors stop for a second. This doesn't happen when I floor it...
Its a 88 na rx7

If your rotors "Stop for a second"..then your engine's eccentric shaft would shear in half and you would be pulling the car over.
You may want to check your TPS for a dead spot.Plugs and wires are a good thing to replace too.
