Engine Flushing Procedure?

I have an 83 and i finally blew out the intake manifold gasket. and had to replace it and water got into my oil. At least that what i took from the situation. Hopefully my engine isnt blown but it still runs great. And i need to know what is the proper procedure for flushing out my engine to get everything out of it without hurting anything?

just drain the oil and fill it, substituting a quart of oil for MMO and run it like that for a few hundred miles and change it again.
