Exclamation Electrical Gremlins

couple weeks ago all power to my headlights went out. created a short and fried the wires. got the whole headlight harness rewired. and just tonight my taillights and dash board lights go out. My brake lights, head lights and turning signals still work.

only thing electrical done was relocation of the battery to the trunk.

bad luck on my part or cuase of the relocation?
what can i do to prevent this happening the my whole harness?
