CT Electric Speedo

Has anyone installed an electronic speedometer in there RX. I'm putting a 1987 13b into an Austin Healey and do not have room in run a cable operated unit. I noticed that there are a lot of electronic units for street rods but they all require a sending unit to be mount to the speedo input port on the tranny. I could not find one on the net that is applicable to the RX7 set-up I'm installing. Any suggestion would be welcome. Thanks, Dave.

Dave,

what did you end up doing for the speedo sending unit? Did you find an electronic one that fit?

I used the koso rx-2 in my custom zx6r street bike build. It works with 2 and 4 strokes. You probably wouldn't have any issue with rotary. I'd like one on my 7 one day. It is meant for bikes, but is universal. For the speed, you would probably have to make a custom bracket to hold the sensor and then bore out a few small holes into your brake rotor for the magnets.

I've heard of using a wheel sensor like an Abs sensor for speed. My thought would be that it would have to be on the front.
Anyone hear of that too?.
..oh,something about a Dakota digital box??

Which almost never happens

Or you can buy overpriced boxes that still give you a delayed reaction.
Besides its just a speedo, not like your wheels will fall off. Know your speed at x rpm and you good.
When i had a t56 in my fc i used a garmin gps for speed, gave you trip, etc
