egt guage

I vaguely remember the best location to tap the egt temp sensor was 6 inches from the turbo on the exhaust manifold. Please tell me my memory hasn't failed me

actually, the best location is as close to the turbo as possible on the downpipe. That's where i have mine. Get a good probe (sensor) for the best readings. I have the autometer street probe and it's really slow. So my advice is get a GOOD PROBE.

In the manifold before the turbo is correct for faster more accurate EGT readings. If you put it in the downpipe after the turbo the temps will read alot lower and slower.
