DownPipe Installers!!! Need Advice PLEASE!!!
Whats up gents!
I need some advice. Im in the middle of a DP installation. It didnt come w/ any bolts, so I had to make do picking up 3 SS hex head (standard bolt head) and 1 allen head cap bolt (this one they didnt have in SS....shld I NOT use it?). Anyway from what I was told, the bottom rear bolt is the one that really needs the cap bolt anyway. The problem Im having is I cant get the allen key fully seated cuz of the pipe angle. Im using the short end of the key and its hitting the pipe. Do they make an offset allen key or somethng? What can I do? Is there a special tool out there I dont know about? For a brief sec I was even contemplating denting the pipe if I cld just enough to allow the allen key to fully seat.
The other problem seems to be the hex head is slighty catching the weld on one maybe two holes. I can't even use a socket on the lower front bolt. How tight do these bolts have to be? Im using anti seize on each bolt so hopefully I dont run into problems later on. I bought some extra cap bolts (NOT SS) do you think I shld use that on the lower front bolt instead since I wont be able to really crank it down w/ an open end wrench (w/out the fear of stripping the head that is)?
So SORRY if I ran off question after question but Im far from being a pro and just want some brotherly advice!
Thanx in Advance!!!!

There should be room to use at least 2 of your stock studs. I was able to reuse 2 of mine. I think it was the top rear and the bottom front. I used the smaller ones that came with the pipe because of clearance issues on the other 2 holes. Just reuse a couple of your stocker studs. I have the SS ATR 3 inch DP.

I had the good fortune of getting those studs out in one piece I wasnt about to gamble it and put them back in. Two out of the four got tight on me again when backing them out. I sprayed them and kept working it in and out till they came out easier. The threads were in pretty good shape but the nuts wldnt come off at all!! Even stripped the threads on a vise trying. So thats out!
Anyone?
My buddy told me to try one of those round ended allen keys. I might go that route....problem is the one he owns has it at the long end, I dont think Ill be able to squeeze it in there....we'll see.
