When everyone talks about compression test before buying the car, what is exactly everyone mean? This Mazda dealership told me you can't perform compression test on the Rotary Engine. I don't want sound like idiot. Thanks in advance.

they are full of it. the difference is you have 3 pulses per rotor. mazda has a special tester for this or you can modify a normal tester be removing the pin. never let them touch your car. find a competent rotary shop. to have one do it will run you roughly $115, thus why many use the modified normal tester. a good idea was to record the readings as the motor cranked ovr with a vid camera so that it can be played back in slow mo as the readings are pretty quick.
